Robert Pattinson, a gallant who does not aspire to be a star

A year and a half after the release of "Twilight", the madness surrounding the protagonist of the saga, Robert Pattinson, has dimmed until a breathable atmosphere, though now rebound with the release of "Eclipse", the third installment.

At 24 years, this London is aware of its status as an idol of the masses and teen heartthrob among the sector, even at short distances is distinguished by its simplicity, education and ease of treatment, virtues that always accompany big star film.

"The people, through contact with the press, I will know and I will be seen and treated as an ordinary person," says the "vampire" world's most famous young, Edward Cullen, during a meeting with a small group of media. But getting there has not been easy.

Pattinson recalls the "phenomenon fan of Stephenie Meyer's novels as somewhat exaggerated, especially when it released the first part of the film franchise, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, in November 2008.

"People went crazy. Everyone called me Edward. He saw her eyes looking at me as does the character. That scared me a little. But luckily, things changed. I find it all easier now and I enjoy it more. It was a delusion before, "says the Briton.

The right decision

A year later came the second part, "New Moon" by Chris Weitz. Between the two films grossed more than U.S. $ 1,100 million at the box office worldwide. But money is not everything for the actor.

"Making a film just for the money is meaningless," he says, and in these years he has not hesitated to engage in independent films as "Little Ashes" (this can be seen from the Cinemax cable channel, which is issued under the title of "No Limits"), which plays the Spanish painter Salvador Dali in his time of youth, when he shared the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid along with other great figures such as Federico García Lorca, with whom, according to the film, Dalí would have had a romance in those years-and then rising filmmaker Luis Buñuel.

Pattinson The idea is to keep doing similar work, since it is more comfortable in films where the weight of the project does not fall solely on his shoulders. It is also the case of "Water for Elephants", a film which shares the bill with Reese Witherspoon ("Legally Blonde") and Christoph Waltz ("inglorious bastards").

Here plays a young man who, during the 30s, is in charge of caring for elephants in a traveling circus and falls in love with the trapeze, which is a couple of brutal animal trainer.
"Now I'm at an early stage of my career and I prefer roles that make sense to me. It's something exciting, "he admits.

"Working with these actors, which are much bigger than me and already attract itself to a certain audience, it's great. I prefer it that way and I find it easier, "he adds.

But for now his attention falls on "Eclipse", directed by David Slade. The film is about love between Edward and Bella (Kristen Stewart) and how to live off the threat of an army of bloodthirsty vampires neophytes and the alliance between the Quileute wolves and vampires clan of the Cullen family.

"So far Edward only had the problem of making the right decision regarding the girl. Now that you've committed to it, this opens the door to a huge spectrum of emotions. It becomes more human and more fun and complex to interpret, "says Pattinson.

The actor will give life to this character in both films that will be divided "Dawn" (in English "Breaking Dawn"), the fourth and so far last part of the teen vampire saga whose premiere is scheduled for 2011. "The more you play a role, the more afraid you have to repeat and it becomes boring," he acknowledges.

"We must continue to discover new things in history and, for a character who does not age or change physically, it is quite difficult," says Pattinson.

Bet quiet

"Anything you say is the subject of sensational headlines and use it as pointless," says the rumors of a relationship with Kristen.

However, Pattinson bid to maintain normal life within the limits that fame requires. "I can walk without being recognized, unless they find a rush of ego," said the passes for the new James Dean for the generation 2.0.

"I guess it's because we have similar hair," he laughs. "I'll take that as a compliment, but no one is the new one. The industry has changed and there are no superstars. It is impossible for you, "says the actor who sees himself as" very simple. "

"I do not spend much money. Buying cars on my salary I see ridiculous. I do not like buying clothes, in fact I do not mind wearing the same every day. But I like old guitars. I bought two really nice, "he concludes. LVI and Agencies
